What is laser or light therapy?
Laser therapy is the use of specific wavelengths of light (red and near infrared) to create therapeutic effects. These effects include improved healing time, pain reduction, increased circulation, and decreased swelling. Most U.S. lasers on the market today have a power range from 5mw to 500mw, making them a cold laser. Our K-laser will emit a power range from 1000mw to 10,000mw, making this a high-power heat laser that can put an end to your pain fast!
Why Our Laser Is Different?
The K-Laser Class IV Heat Laser is a medical breakthrough therapeutic device with unparalleled applications and treatment outcomes and it’s the strongest therapeutic laser available in the USA.
This state of the art painless therapy works by converting light into biochemical energy, resulting in normal cell function, which causes symptoms (PAIN) to disappear.
The primary biological action of K-laser results from stimulation of cellular transport mechanisms, in the mitochondria, cell membranes and epithelial tissues. This action causes the release of vasodilating chemicals, the stimulation of DNA and RNA (Building blocks) synthesis, an increase in enzyme production, an increase of superoxide dismutase activity, normalization of tissue pH, and increased ATP production. The increase of vasodilatation (blood supply) and improved microcirculation will increase the supply of cellular nutrition promoting tissue repair and remodeling (which means you heal faster). Significant reduction in edema (swelling) is also noted.
How is the treatment done? The laser is placed in contact with the skin allowing the photon energy to penetrate tissue, where it interacts with various intracellular bio molecules resulting in the restoration of normal cell function. This also enhances the body’s natural healing processes. In essence, light energy is converted into biochemical energy.
The result; normal cell functions are restored. The process results in a disappearance of symptoms and increases the speed at which your body heals. Other Effects; the immune system response is stimulated, Lymphatic drainage is improved, Production of growth hormone is increased, & the body’s natural healing process are enhanced.
The beneficial physiological changes noted above are the result in tissue regeneration and cellular stimulation. When you visit our website for more information, you will notice that we, at the Northeast Pain Laser Center focus on reduction and elimination of pain by using the Class IV K-laser to help our patients.
What does that mean to you?
It means it can put an end to your pain fast!

What does laser therapy have over other forms of therapy?
It does not require the use of drugs or surgery, there are less side effects or risks, and it is quick and convenient. Studies have shown that it is equal to or more effective than other forms of physical therapy. Pain relief is often immediate.
Does it hurt? What does the treatment feel like?
There is little or no sensation during treatment. Occasionally one feels mild, soothing warmth, or tingling. There is no pain associated with the treatment.
How long does the treatment take?
The typical course of treatment is five to ten minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated. Acute conditions may be treated daily, particularly if they are accompanied by significant pain. More chronic problems respond better when treatments are received 2 to 3 times a week, tapering to once every other week with improvement. Treatment plans are determined on an individual basis.
How many treatments does it take?
This depends on the nature of the condition being treated. For some acute conditions, 2 to 6 treatments may be sufficient. More chronic conditions may require 2 to 12 sessions. Conditions such as severe arthritis may require ongoing periodic care to control pain.
How long before results are felt?
You may feel improvement in your condition (usually pain reduction) after the very first treatment. Each treatment is cumulative and results are often felt after 2 to 4 sessions.
Are the results long lasting?
Therapeutic Laser Therapy is about healing. It's not about masking or covering up a condition. When you feel better from this therapy... it's because you are better. Therefore results have been found to be quite long lasting.
Can it be used in conjuction with other forms of treatment?
Yes, laser therapy is even more effective when combined with other forms of therapy, including physical therapy, chiropractic, massage, soft tissue mobilization, electrotherapy, and following surgery. We combine our heat laser therapy with specialized orthopedic and medical massage techniques to relieve your pain fast!
Is it a cold laser treatment?
No, the K-Laser is a Class-4 Heat Laser with much deeper penetrating power. No cold laser on the market today can come close to the fast-acting therapeutic effects of our Class-4 device. Chronic pain relief is our specialty. We have many patient's that have tried cold laser therapy with no success and with just ONE Class IV heat laser treatment they start feeling better.
How do I know if this type of laser therapy is right for me?
We will evaluate your condition and perform a complete laser therapy examination to determine if you are a candidate for this procedure. Call to schedule your complimentary evaluation and Q&A session.
Can laser therapy be used over medical implants or over metal?
Yes, laser therapy is a light treatment. No heating is involved with the surgical or metal implants. It can be used safely with no side effects. It is extremely effective for post-operative wound healing.
Is it covered by medical insurance?
No, at this time laser therapy is not typically covered by most medical insurance in the United States or Europe.
Most patients who decide to receive the benefits of laser therapy at my office are sick and tired of being sick and tired, so they choose to seek this effective method of treatment on their own. Long term sufferers often consider the cost of laser therapy well worth an improved quality of life.
How much do treatments cost?
Laser therapy cost per treatment session is $30; this includes HIGH POWER CLASS IV K-LASER THERAPY to one region (i.e., neck, lower back, shoulder, etc.). Combined with soft tissue/muscle trigger point and massage therapy specific to the region of your condition, home treatment/exercise prescription, and nutritional supplement recommendations, the cost is $50. Additional "traditional" treatment procedures (spinal and/or extremity joint manipulation, electrical muscle stimulation, ultrasound, etc) are also available, and may be covered by your health insurance; our office staff will work with you to determine this, and will assist you with several payment options as needed.
Because the total number of treatment visits necessary with the laser are relatively few (usually 4 - 6 visits for acute conditions, up to 10 with more chronic, longstanding conditions), and by combining our MULTI-THERAPUETIC APPROACH (trigger point/soft tissue massage, various adjusting/manipulation techniques - minimal/low force, instrument adjusting, traditional chiropractic manipulation, as well as nutritonal recommendations and rehabilitative exercises - ALL DOCTOR PRESCRIBED and APPLIED), you will achieve much faster corrective (and effective) results for your pain and related symptoms.
